Perplexity is extending Computer with Automations for ongoing work. According to its October 5, 2026 changelog, tasks on the web can start on a schedule or in response to events from connected apps. Automations can use Memory, Skills and Connectors and can build on outcomes from earlier runs.
The combination of repetition, context and external events is especially relevant for agentic systems. Perplexity gives examples such as daily change monitoring, reacting to shipment delays and following up when a customer has not replied. Automations can pause for review before consequential actions.
